Perhaps surprising to many, it is currently the 12<sup>th<\/sup> most populous city in the United States and has many attractions worthy of your visit.<\/p>\n<p>History buffs will want to visit the various war memorials, including the Soldiers &amp; Sailors Monument, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in.gov\/iwm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiana World War Memorial<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ussindianapolis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USS Indianapolis Memorial<\/a>, among others. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianamuseum.org\/things-to-do\/experiences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiana State Museum<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/eiteljorg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eiteljorg Museum<\/a> are located in nearby <a href=\"http:\/\/inwhiteriver.wrsp.in.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White River State Park<\/a>. The kids will love the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrensmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Children\u2019s Museum<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianapoliszoo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indianapolis Zoo<\/a>. A short drive north will take you to family-friendly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.connerprairie.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conner Prairie<\/a>, where you can experience life in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p>Sporting News magazine recently ranked Indy as the 19<sup>th<\/sup> best sports city in the country. While in town, try to catch a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colts<\/a> game at the magnificent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lucasoilstadium.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lucas Oil Stadium<\/a>, which was host to the 2012 Super Bowl. Motor sports fans are familiar with the history of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indianapolis Motor Speedway<\/a>, home of the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400. If basketball is your thing, check out the Pacers (NBA) or Fever (WNBA) at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gainbridgefieldhouse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bankers Life Fieldhouse<\/a>.\u00a0 Also located in Indianapolis is the campus of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.butler.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Butler University<\/a>, whose men\u2019s basketball team recently went to the NCAA Final Four two years in a row. The Indianapolis Indians play minor league baseball, and their stadium, Victory Field, is a fantastic place to watch a game.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re more artsy than athletic, be sure to visit the Indianapolis Museum of Art and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianapolissymphony.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra<\/a>. For theater performances, check the schedules at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beefandboards.com\/Online\/default.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beef and Boards<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/oldnationalcentre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Murat Centre<\/a> and Clowes Memorial Hall. If you can\u2019t make it to Indy Jazz Fest in September, you can swing by the <a href=\"https:\/\/thejazzkitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jazz Kitchen<\/a> year-round for tasty food and excellent music. The Heartland Film Festival takes place each October and is one of the fastest-growing film festivals in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Overwhelmed by the possibilities?
