This week, we hear from Michele in Customer Service, about one of her favorite hometown autumn traditions!<\/p>\n
Our family discovered Stonycreek Farm many years ago when our daughters were in preschool. This year we will continue the tradition and take our 5 month old granddaughter.<\/p>\n
Your visit can begin with a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins, a great photo op. There is also a giant straw pile that the kids love to jump in. If you\u2019re hungry, the Country Market serves lunch as well as apple dumplings and elephant ears.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t forget to visit the farm animals with a feeding station to feed the donkeys and goats.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s also an inflatable kid-friendly haunted house as well as the inflatable Kiddiepillar that small children can crawl through.<\/p>\n
Groups can enjoy an evening hayride party with a bonfire. Remember to reserve early as the dates fill up fast.<\/p>\n
On the weekends there are also vendors who offer demonstrations and sell crafts. You can try out the bicycle powered grist mist and take home a bag of ground wheat. Visit \u201cBeeswax Betty\u201d and make your own candles; even children can join in making candles. Lily\u2019s Soap Kitchen offers handmade natural and organic soaps. Bob Hoffman\u2019s hand-cast pewter figurines are also available for sale.<\/p>\n
There are event caricatures and pony rides Saturday and Sunday as well as kid\u2019s basket weaving.<\/p>\n
The festival begins on September 29th<\/sup> and goes through October 31st<\/sup>, and runs 7 days a week from 10 AM to 5 PM. There are activities for all ages and many are free.
